“Queen Colobus owning it, truly dazzling…”

- Mary Anne Hobbs, BBC 6 Music

About

Queen Colobus’ "boundless creativity" (CLASH) weaves a sound that is both soothing and head-banging in equal measure. Their devastatingly honest lyrics and rage-filled riffs fuel their more-ish songs.

Led by Welsh saxophonist and vocalist Beth Hopkins, the band features Morgan Rickman (guitar), Will Heaton (bass), and Adam Skinner (drums). Queen Colobus’ intricate musicianship and tight-knit friendship empower their joyful and cathartic shows, selling out prestigious venues including Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and gaining support from industry tastemakers such as BBC 6Music and CLASH.

A third EP is incoming, heavily inspired by band favourites The Smile, Big Thief and Hiatus Kaiyote, and is set to be an unmissable release of 2025.

CLASH Magazine

“A London based collective with a Welsh vocalist, Queen Colobus represents a space for expression, with each musician bringing their own tastes and inclinations to the table…moving between neo-soul, jazz, and indie, somehow bringing these disparate influences into a coherent whole. Reminiscent of Hiatus Kyote in their boundless creativity, the emotional pull of their songwriting is held together by Beth Hopkins’ voice.” Read more

ITAL Massive

I am absolutely IN LOVE with U.K.’s neo-soul band, Queen Colobus! (…) Lead singer Beth Hopkins gives off Lily Allen vibes with a dash of Maxwell and Macy Gray! (…) musically orgasmic and I personally don’t think anyone else’s voice could’ve meshed so well. (…) Queen Colobus is one of those bands that is ahead of its time but is also NEEDED in this time. This is a great work of art! Read more
