Next gig - Tuesday 14 July Green Note, Camden
Alternative folk singer-songwriter Beth Angharad pairs open-hearted lyricism with lush three-part harmony, strings, and saxophone.
Beth Angharad
Rooted in her Welsh heritage, Beth Angharad’s music has a compelling individuality, winding love and loss around lilting melodies that sit the listener beside her. Welsh folk songs are woven through a set of original songs—devastatingly honest—sonically influenced by her grounding in indie, folk and jazz.
Beth’s compositions have received support from tastemakers such as Mary Anne Hobbs of 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and CLASH Magazine, fronting the indie 4-piece Queen Colobus.
Onwards and Upwards
I am currently writing a large project called ‘Onwards and Upwards’ centred around grief.
Grief is universal, timeless and often unbearable. In a time where more people are living with grief than ever after the COVID-19 pandemic, this body of work aims to shed light on the pain of living alongside grief and the impact that community and art can have during this time.
